Black Obsidian as we know, is a natural volcanic glass, formed by rapidly cooling lava. Mahogany Obsidian, also known as Mountain Mahogany is still a natural volcanic glass, however has Hematite or Magentite inclusions within it, giving it a reddish-brown appearance.
Mahogany Obsidian is known as the stone of strength, it works to encourage strength and gives you the willpower to overcome fears and challenges that may arise. It is also referred to as the stone of reflection and is useful with decision making, helping us to see what is important in the here and now. Mahogany Obsidian has a soft and gentle energy that will keep you grounded and protected.
